We just had two couples in the 2 bedroom cottage called Ikunji and it was a beautiful weekend at Emma's. The outlook over the vines and BBQ at home was great. The place was comfortable enough but the beds were terrible. They were very squeaky cheap beds that woke the house up if you rolled over in the night! Real shame as that really took away from the appeal of the place. Everything else was fine - we used the pool quite a bit which was good, although not very private as it's right next to the cellar door. We did a tasting and bought some wines which were lovely and the girl helping (Kendall I believe) was very helpful and friendly. We didn't see the owners at all which didn't bother us. One thing to note is that there was no oven which we didn't think to check beforehand. We also had no phone reception or WIFI - but that is pretty common in the Hunter at the moment and didn't detract from the weekend.

Very poor customer service, lied to about restaurant being double booked when they were actually never open. Accommodation basic but ok. If you want anything more than a bed to sleep in then look elsewhere.

The restaurant run by Friedhall and his wife was absolutely top notch! We had coffee everyday and breakfast on the last morning which was all brilliant. We also had a long boozy lunch there Sunday which was superb. They were very friendly and helpful with the menu, going out of their way to make sure we had a great time and excellent food that we would enjoy.

Very nice evening spent with close friends over a delicious meal. Can't wait to return when I get back to Australia.
